NACHA - "ACH Payment Cancelled" Email Virus Scam

An email purporting to be from N ACHA – The Electronic Payments Association is currently being fraudulently circulated to unsuspecting individuals and corporations. The mail claims that a certain payment has been cancelled and induces readers to download the attached ZIP file for details of such cancellation. In this regard I would like to point out that the said attachment hosts a malicious software / Virus capable of causing harm to your system and/or tracking your information.  You are therefore advised not to " open attachments or follow Web links in unsolicited emails from unknown parties or from parties with whom you do not normally communicate, or that appear to be known but are suspicious or otherwise unusual." It needs to be clarified that "NACHA itself does not process nor touch the ACH transactions that flow to and from organizations and financial institutions. DHL Express Delivery Parcel Notification Virus Scam

God these Emails just keep coming! The latest titled "  DHL Express Delivery Parcel Notification " is currently doing rounds. Strangely enough again only yahoo users are being targeted.  The email looks like as if its from DHL.Com and tricks unsuspecting recipients into downloading the zipped attachment. The attachment contains a virus which is then installed in the recipient's computer.

United Parcel Service Notification Email Virus

Another spam email titled " United Parcel Service Notification " is currently doing rounds. The mail contains an attachment purporting to contain information about a parcel (allegedly sent to your home address) and its tracking number. Now if you receive such emails I would advice you against downloading and up-zipping the (ZIP) file attachment as it contains a potentially harmful virus! I would also clarify that such emails are not sent by UPS . The email I received is reproduced below. Do note the spelling mistakes and the fact that the same mail has been sent to numerous other recipients. Express Delivery System Email Virus Scams

Have you received any email like the one I have reproduced below? If your answer is yes, its a good thing that you have searched for this post before downloading the attachment. That's because the (zip) file attachment contains a potentially harmful VIRUS.  I would therefore advice you against downloading such attachments now and in future. This is the email I received. Note how they have spelled the words "address" and "business" Express Delivery tracking number # 142423 Good morning  Parcel notification  The parcel was sent your home adress . Express Services Notification Email Virus Scam.

Another scam email titled " Express Services notification " is currently doing rounds.  The mail contains an attachment purporting to contain information about a parcel (allegedly sent to your home address) and its tracking number.  Now if you receive such emails,  I would advice you not to download the (ZIP) file attachment as it contains a potentially harmful virus, which might install on computer once you un-zip the contents of the attachment. It is also apparent that mostly Yahoo users have been targeted by this scam.  Safety tip : Always keep your anti-virus updated to protect yourself from such threats and attacks. DHL Express Services Email Virus Scam

Today I received another email with the subject " DHL Express Services ", notifying me about some sort of parcel that was sent to my address. The mail also contained an attachment purporting to contain information about the parcel and its tracking number.  Just as I had stated in my previous post on the FedEx Email Scam , I got the attachment examined and it did contain a VIRUS . With the growing list of people complaining about the receipt of such emails it is becoming quite evident that all this is a part of an organised effort to attack and infect our computers . Now if you receive such emails I would advice you not to download the (ZIP) file attachment as it contains a potentially harmful virus! You are better off deleting such emails. FedEx System Notification Email Virus.

Very recently I received an email with the subject " FedEx system notification",  notifying me about some sort of parcel that was sent to my  address. The mail also contained an attachment purporting to contain information about the parcel  and its tracking number.  This made me suspicious primarily because  I had not ordered any such parcel. The same email was sent to a large number of persons. I got the attachment examined and it did contain a VIRUS. Now if you receive such emails I would advice you  not to download the (ZIP) file attachment as it contains a potentially  harmful virus! I would also clarify that such emails are not sent by FedEx .
