TRAI Launches Telecom Consumers Complaint Monitoring System

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today launched a new portal called the Telecom Consumers Complaint Monitoring System (TCCMS) to put in place a system that enables them to monitor complaints from telecom consumers.  The TCCMS portal, would facilitate the telecom consumers in locating the “Consumer Care Number”, “General Information Number” and Contact Details of the complaint centre and Appellate Authority of their service provider.  The portal would also help the consumers in accessing the website of their service provider’s complaint monitoring portal to track the current status of their complaints or appeals lodged with their service provider complaint centre or Appellate Authority. Actions Speak Louder Than Words: The Rise Of Video Marketing

There are many ways to market your product - from billboards, to print advertising, to product placement. Each of these mediums can have varying degree of success but without a shred of doubt, the fastest growing marketing medium today is video advertising. Thanks to improvements in web-development and internet speeds, it’s now possible for websites to host videos and for viewers to watch them with very little fuss. In terms of getting your message across to possible consumers it’s an invaluable tool and one you really can’t afford to ignore. Reasons for success Video marketing is successful for two reasons. Firstly, moving visuals / images are better at conveying information than text, stills or even audio (think about the popularity of TV over books and magazines). Then you have the fact that you can combine video marketing with other forms – for example text and audio – to make the package complete. Secondly, the vastly improved internet speeds made possible by broadb...

5 Fast Ways to Cut the Distractions and Be Productive

It's 7 a.m. The baby's crying, the four-year-old is tearing around the house yelling, "Hulk smaaaaash!", your husband is asking you where the car keys are, and you are trying to maintain enough sanity and patience to make it through the day. All of this, on top of the fact that you have chores to do, work deadlines to meet, and countless other commitments and projects. The fact is, there's so much going on during any given day that it's virtually impossible to accomplish it all. Sometimes the overwhelming burden of having to do it all results in doing not much of anything. It's important to have a plan in place to make sure productivity isn't lost. Prioritize Tasks must be prioritized to make sure that the necessary items get accomplished first. Less important tasks can be tackled during the time remaining. Think about the items on your to-do list. If there are work-related deadlines, those should most likely be at the top of the list. While ...

Top Travel Apps Worth Paying For

Travel apps abound for the iPhone, iPad, and iTouch users. It can be a real headache wading through all the options, so a few of the most interesting, useful, and high-rated will be provided here. One consideration was selecting those that can be lifesavers but often overlooked; the other was to provide one choice each for three distinct elements of the travel experience. None of the three are free, but all are inexpensive and according to the ratings and raves, well worth it. Packing is an art that is honed over a lifetime, often through a series of errors; too many shoes, too many wrinkly outfits when you end up wearing three, improper items for the weather and culture, crammed-in toiletries that security makes you toss or take out (or which leak or explode) – the list goes on. There are a few left-brained analytical and visual-spatial types for whom this application may be less necessary, but for the rest of us there, there is hope in: “Packing Pro” This ...

3 Tips for Efficient Google AdWords Management

What does it take to make your next Google AdWords campaign a success? Is it all about split-testing? Is it about using a wide variety of keywords and keyword phrases, ones where each campaign is maximised with anywhere from 20 to 30 keyword variations, or is success ultimately about letting Google do the homework for you and relying upon their keyword tool? Whilst most webmasters like to think they have a readymade solution for running a successful pay-per-click (PPC) campaign, the reality is that success ultimately comes down to focusing on a couple of essential criteria. Granted, a large number of webmasters rationalise that the quickest way to increasing a website’s PageRank is to go with the most expensive, most sought-after keyword. However, it’s not quite that simple. More importantly, it doesn’t need to be that expensive. So if one were to put together a simple, straightforward list of the most important guidelines to use, what exactly would that list entail? Focus on ...

10 Worst PowerPoint Habits

PowerPoint can be a great tool for presentations, but when used poorly, it can be distracting, confusing and even make the speaker unnecessary. Here are 10 worst PowerPoint Habits. 10. Too many slides More slides do not make a better presentation. Different topics and sub-topics can be broken up, but don't go to the extreme of one slide for each sentence. Your audience needs time to read each slide and make a connection to what you are saying. 9. Too much information on each slide At the other end of the spectrum is fitting too much onto each slide. Your audience shouldn't lose their place on a slide while you give your presentation. Too much information makes it difficult to follow along and your audience may miss the important points while they try to find their place. Another possibility is that they will read ahead and not pay you much attention at all.  8. Copyright violations Pictures, quotes, videos and sounds can all add to a presentation's ...

Using Work-Life Balance Tips to Lead a Better Quality Life

In today's fast moving world, achieving balance between life and work may seem to be an extremely difficult proposition. Therefore before we focus on any work-life balance tips, it is important to understand what exactly work-life balance is. Work-life balance is a broad concept and is concerned with effective prioritization between "work' (and its concerns) on the one hand and "life" (and its needs) on the other. It does not mean being one up in the personal life as well as at work-front. After all, the fact remains that it is not possible to work beyond the 24 hours in any day. Thus, it only means that you need to be able to balance your work life, your personal life, as well as your pleasures, all within the day itself. Do you have a plan? It is very important to plan. Similarly, it is vital to keep your weekday away from your weekend. Plan your weekend in such a way that you are able to have a comfortable week ahead. This may include your w...

How to Deal with the Intricacies of Business and Culture

Culture and business go hand-in-hand. From the industry you’re involved in to the different nationalities you work with, your social etiquette will need to be top-notch for you to succeed. Business owners need to make sure that their employees’ cultural intelligence, also known as CQ, is of a high level in order to avoid cultural goof up and corporate derailment. Understanding each other’s interpersonal differences can either make or break the corporate culture / environment and dictate the type of interaction occurring within the office. From how we dress, to the foods we eat, and the religious holidays we take; these factors will partly determine the way we address and treat our fellow employees. An extreme example of a business culture faux pas would be calling your French client a frog or referring to your Spanish partner as a bull fighter. These types of ethnic stereotypes are frowned upon and should be drilled out of you from day one of starting your contact. Int...

Teamwork is the cooperative effort of a large or small group of people working to achieve a common goal. Teams in the workplace are a crucial part of workplace efficiency. Because of this, employers are frequently seeking ways to optimize the quality of team performance. One of the best ways to enhance teamwork is through the use of technology. The use of technology increases the efficiency of teams. Which Links Pass The Most Weight In Search Engines

Search engines essentially consider external links as 'votes of confidence' in favour of a blog or website and sites that have more links pointing towards them are generally considered more valuable than others.  Though link building as a practice is therefore incredibly important for SEO, all too often people pick up mediocre or non-performing links that have little impact on their search engine rankings. The perfect link satisfies three different values, and you should do your best to find all three. However, a link that possesses two of these values is still considered strong.  DoFollow Links When a website is setup, the Webmaster is able to set the links to NoFollow. This is done to prevent search engines from transferring PageRank and  anchor text  across these links. Its true that popular pages attract a lot of comment spam and hence webmasters set links to NoFollow to prevent these pages from losing weightage. Moreover some ...
